【Equipment Outline】

　This is an ancient shrine dedicated to Noki-no-Okami, one of the four great gods of Izumo.

　It is said that the shrine was once magnificent and grand long ago, but it was destroyed in a fire and later rebuilt by Horio, who replaced Mori as ruler of Izumo.

　In the “Izumokoku Fudoki”, it is called “Nogi-no-Yashiro”, and the deity how enshrined is Amaterasu-O-Mikami’s secound child Amenohoshi-no-mikoto. Amenohoshi-no-mikoto was dispatched as an envoy of the heavenly gods, Okuninushi-no-okami, to oversea the transfer of rulership from earthly gods to the heavenly gods and their descendants. He became ancestor to the clan charged with governance and overseeing ritual affairs.
