Hirose Kasuri Training School

It is a great place to see the work process for yourself. Not only local people but also people from another prefecture can take lessons.

Dyeing and weaving handed down to Hirose, the castle town

Hirose Kasuri’s beginning is said to have originated in the 7th year of Bunsei, when Sadako Nagaoka, the wife and daughter of the town doctor Kensho Nagaoka, was taught the dyeing of kasuri from Yonago-cho,  and returned home, and spread it to women in the town.
Until then, clothes were generally made of hemp, and this pattern and texture were attractive enough to accept the technology of the kasuri to the women of Hirose.

Hirose Kasuri is a fabric of cotton woven with a large pattern, and is woven so that it floats clearly by combining elaborate patterns and geometric patterns, and the texture increases as it is washed.

Soba・Udon Shop AMAGO

This restaurant’s soba is prepared by a father-son team: the father makes soba noodles using his prided homemade flour, and his son cooks the noodles into a warm, flavorful dish.
The restaurant’s recommended tempura soba. Tempura made with ten kinds of seasonal vegetables is served on a separate plate, so you can add it to your soba or udon as you please. Of course, you can also add salt and eat it as is! !

In summer, a limited number of chilled bukkake soba is available.
