Yasugi City Historical Museum
【Equipment Outline】
It is located at the foot of the ruins of Gassan Toda Castle, which was the political and cultural center of Izumo Province from the Warring States period to the early modern era.
The history of Yasugi City from ancient times to the early modern period is divided into three main categories: “Ancient Yasugi,” “Gassan Castle and turbulent times,” and “Toward a New Society,” and exhibits them in an easy-to-understand manner.In addition, the history and culture of Yasugi City are comprehensively introduced, such as through the relics of the Amago, Mori, and Horio clans, who were the lord of Toda Castle, and the remains and artifacts excavated from the Toda Castle Town and riverbed ruins, which were submerged when Toda River in flooded 1666.
In the guidance room of the museum, there is a diorama model reproduced based on expert’s opinions and pictures (copy) published in the “Unyogunjiki (Unyo Military Records)” during the Meiji era.
