Infomation
562 Tomita, Hirose-cho, Yasugi-shi, Shimane
Yoshiharu Horio moved from Hamamatsu Castle with 120,000 koku to the lord of Izumo Oki with 240,000 koku due to his achievements in the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600. Due to the development of firearms, etc., a flat castle was sought, and Tadauji and Matsue were considered, and two locations were selected. After that, he decided to go to Kamedayama, which was claimed by the late Taduji, and supported his grandson Tadaharu to complete Matsue Castle and its castle town. Yoshiharu died after seeing the completion of the castle, and his grave was built in Tomita Castle as per his will.
Yoshiharu’s wife (name unknown, called Ookata-sama in Matsue) seems to be a very benevolent person. in 1602.
