Senjohira
Infomation
Toda, Hirose Town, Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture
A huge stone wall that can be seen from the castle town is called “Oishigaki”. It also had the effect of improving the appearance of the castle town.
Stone walls were built up and filled with earth and sand to create a large kuruwa of Senjodaira. It is said to be a place where soldiers gather together. The stone wall was built during the Yoshikawa Hiroie era after the Amago clan. Parts of shachi-gawara tiles and ridge-end tiles were found in the corner, and it is believed that a turret was built there.
Below you can see the Iinashi River and the current Hirose townscape, beyond that is Katsuyama, where the Mori clan encamped during the Second Battle of Toda Castle, and the Ouchi clan encamped during the first Battle of Toda Castle. You can see “Mt. Kyoragi”.
