Sarugakure mountain
Infomation
The highest mountain in Yasugi City on the prefectural border between Higashihida and Nichinan Town, Tottori Prefecture
It was the place where Izanamino no Mikoto gave birth to Kagutsuchi, the god of fire, and died from the burns at that time, and was said to be Saru Hidden Mountain. There is a legend that the mountain’s name was later changed to Mt. Sarukakure after a samurai from the north side exterminated the monster with the guidance of an old monkey. Iron making was done on the mountainside.
