Sanchu Gotenhira

It is a vast Kuruwa site at the foot of Mt. Gassan, surrounded by large stone walls. At the top of the main gate, there is a flat area of more than 3,000 square meters, and it was one of the most important places in the castle. In the place where the building called Sanchu Palace used to be, it has a two-tiered structure, Kami-goten-daira and Shimo-goten-daira. It has a two-tiered structure consisting of a flat ground and a stone wall.

This place is the place where the entrance to the castle from three directions aiming at the main enclosure merges, and you can check the tiger entrance at Sugaya entrance and Shioya entrance. It is believed that there was an Otemon gate at Mikomoriguchi, but it cannot be confirmed at present. You can see the traces of a stone wall that was later added to the stone wall facing the pond that was built later in Yamanaka Gotenshita. There is also a military well in the vicinity.
