Sannomaru
Infomation
Tomita, Hirose Town, Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture
Sannomaru is the first Kuruwa when you climb Nanamagari. About 30 meters wide and 80 meters long. It is thought to be from the Yoshikawa period, as the stone walls were built in steps. At the top of the stone steps, there remains a foundation stone that is thought to have been the gate. The Kuruwa has a triangulation point, the torii of Katsuhitakamori Shrine, and two wells.
Below you can see the streets of Hirose Town, and in the far north you can see the Noki Plain, Nakaumi, Shimane Peninsula, and the Sea of Japan, which were important areas for transportation, economy, and military at that time.
