Noki Plain
Infomation
Yasugi City Sawamachi and others
In the fall and winter, you can see tundra swans that have come from Siberia to spend the winter,
and in the spring and summer you can see storks.
From around 1975 to around November every year, Tundra swans came flying from Siberia and other places to spend the winter in the Noki plains.
You can enjoy its appearance until around March of the following year. The sight of them pecking at gleanings is one of Yasugi City’s winter traditions.
You may be used to seeing swans on the lake, but Yasugi City is a rare place where you can see them in the rice fields.
It is also a popular spot for photographers because you can take pictures of swans against the backdrop of the Nogi Plains and Mt. Daisen.
In recent years, storks can be seen in spring and summer.
