Ancient shrine dedicated to Nogi, one of the four great deities of Izumo
The shrine is said to have been built in the grand Taisha-zukuri style in ancient times, but was destroyed by fire and rebuilt by the Horio clan, which ruled Izumo in place of the Mori clan.
